A School Improvement Board is in place at St Mary's Catholic Primary School.
The School Improvement Board, or SIB, has the specific responsibility of securing the school’s immediate and planned improvement and development and put in place such measures that will enable it to then hand back the governance responsibility to the Local Governing Body, once these objectives have been achieved.
The SIB is made up of experienced school professionals from across the Multi-Academy.

After having started his career in an outstanding secondary school and progressing to the role of Assistant Principal, Luke became Vice Principal of St Bede’s Catholic Middle School in 2015 to begin his journey as a Catholic Leader.
Since then, he has been Head of School at St Bede’s and has recently completed a secondment as Deputy Principal at St Augustine’s Catholic High School, an outstanding High School and Teaching School. Luke is a Specialist Leader of Education with specialisms in MFL, Behaviour, PSHE and Initial Teacher Training.
Since 2018, Luke has been Data Protection Officer for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic MAC. Luke is Chair of the Middle School Careers Hub and works with over 100 middle schools nationally in developing their careers provision, advice and guidance. As well as having experience as a MAC Director, Luke has been a Governor at an Alternative Provision setting and a Primary school in Special Measures. Luke is passionate about Catholic education and securing the best provision and outcomes for all young people.
Tony is currently a Senior Adviser for School Intervention with the Archdiocese of Birmingham supporting improvement in vulnerable and challenging schools. He has a proven track record in this field. In addition, he remains the Director of the Saint Augustine’s Teaching School (National Behaviour Hub) which is acknowledged as an organisation that undertakes effective and purposeful school to school support for rapid improvement; it has supported over 40 schools at various levels over the last two years and the moral purpose of its work has been recognised in Ofsted and Section 48 reports. As a National Leader of Education (NLE), Tony continues to work as a system leader for the DfE in challenging circumstances to improve the life chances of all children irrespective of their backgrounds; the impact of his worked is seen in Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Coventry, Birmingham and Sandwell.
Previously, Tony was the Principal of Saint Augustine’s Catholic High School. In his 7-year tenure (2012-2019), he and his team took the school to ’outstanding’ in terms of Ofsted and Section 48, becoming a nationally recognised centre of excellence and top performing institution. It has achieved an average of 1+ for Progress 8 over the last 3 years. In 2019, the TES league tables recognised the school as the top performing Catholic secondary school in the country. Working in tandem with this role, Tony was Executive Principal of Cardinal Wiseman in Coventry (2017-2019) and Saint John Wall in Birmingham (2015-2019) and adviser to Trinity in Warwickshire and Stuart Bathurst in Sandwell in the last year.
Jackie has been the Headteacher of Broadway’s near neighbour, St. Mary’s Catholic Primary in Evesham since 2009. After completing a degree in History at Birmingham University, followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education; Jackie is now approaching the end of her thirtieth year of teaching. There have been many changes in education during this time, but one constant is Jackie quotes "I still find myself amused, delighted, inspired and often challenged by the children in my care, every single day!"
Jackie has experience of Governing Bodies and has been a Governor for several years, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Malvern and of course been a Governor at St. Mary’s for over fifteen years. Jackie is looking forward to supporting Mrs McNally and the Broadway team.
Sharon has been a Foundation Governor at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Evesham for 11 years and has held the role of Chair of Governors for 9 years, during which time she has been involved in two Ofsted inspections and two Section 48 Inspections.
Over the past two years Sharon has provided governance support to the Board of Directors of the Holy Family Catholic MAC as a member of the Audit and Resource committee. During this time as a governor, she has held responsibilities for SEND and Performance management and she has a particular interest in teaching and learning providing support and challenge to the senior leadership team.
Sharon aims to use her governance experience to support St Mary’s Broadway and to have a positive impact on the quality of education and on the outcomes for all our children and the whole school community.
Sharon is a member of the parish community of The Immaculate Conception and St Egwin in Evesham and has links to the parish in Broadway. Sharon currently works within the area of education working within the Registry and MIS department of a local FE and HE college group, this experience will be help her understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing schools.
